TIDEPOOL EXPERIENCE AND
MARINE SCIENCE CENTER TOURS

The general tide-pool program includes a brief talk about the challenges and adaptations of living in the intertidal zone. The students have the opportunity to explore the rocky tide-pool area where they can find many traditional rocky intertidal organisms.  Activities vary depending on age, but can include exploration, surveying, scavenger hunts, or worksheets that you bring with you.

These programs can include time at our touch tanks, which contain examples of what can be found in local tide-pools and students are encouraged to handle and examine.  Organisms can also be examined under our dissecting microscopes to allow students a closer look. Programs can focus on food webs, adaptations, surveying methods, invasive species, or classification.

Please be aware that the program is dependent on low tide and is subject to change based on weather, timing, and availability.
