My interest lies in marine science education. Specifically I enjoy allowing students to have access to authentic research techniques and first hand experiences in the marine environment. By using real world techniques and methods, students are introduced and gain an understanding of how marine scientists learn about the ocean. A connection to the marine world can be developed in a field experience that is difficult to foster in a classroom only setting. Marine science education is important in creating an appreciation, awareness, and understanding of the marine world.
