Tidepool
Walk * - come join us for guided tours of East Point’s
tide pools. Learn about the biology and ecology of marine
tidepool organisms as well as tips on how to identify them.
Geology
Walk * - Come learn the about the fascinating geological history
of Nahant and eastern Massachusetts with a Northeastern University
geologist.
WWII
Bunker Tour with expert Gerald Butler - Come tour the John
B. Murphy Battery, part of the coastal defense system during
World War II.
East
Point Solar Observatory Tours TBA
Exhibits
of Current Marine Science Center Research - Faculty
and graduate students research posters will be on
display all day with a special display of Dr. Ayer’s “RoboLobster”.
Lab
Activities for the whole family
Invasive
Marine Species Exhibit - Meet the latest newcomers to Massachusetts's
shores. Live exhibits of invasive marine organisms.
Algae
Herbarium Activity - Kids can make their own algae pressings
to take home. It’s science and art sandwiched together.
Marine
Life Exhibits - Our touch tables allow you to experience
local marine life first hand. From algae to crabs, snails
to sea squirts.
Beach
Cleanup - Come join
usin a beach cleanup of Nahant’s
Forty Steps and Canoe Beaches. People young
and old are welcome to participate in a cleanup
of the shoreline .
